Alcoholic Drinks You Can Make To Impress Your Friends... Or Cocktails You Can Use To Gross Out Your Friends?!

I've been a bartender for a long time, and I have many friends (and myself) who like to drink on occasion. We've experimented with countless liqueurs and recipes. Here are a couple interesting drink recipes you may or may not have heard of or tried. Use them at your next party to impress (and maybe even gross out) your guests! They are actually tasty drinks but they don't look too appetizing. Will your friends have the guts to try them? Great for Halloween parties!

Weird Drink #1: Dirty Bong Water

What? Dirty Bong Water?? That sounds disgusting! It actually looks disgusting, too.

However, it tastes sweet and smooth. Drink as shooters or martinis. It's very easy and inexpensive to make, so it's a great choice for large parties with drinkers. Make ahead of time in an empty pitcher for fun shooters all night in a jiffy. Buy cheap liqueurs since it's all going to be mixed anyway and you won't be able to taste much of the individual spirits.

Ingredients Dirty Bong Water Shooter or Cocktail recipe

amaretto

raspberry liqueur

blue curacao

rum (white or spiced, even coconut rum can be used if you like)

sweet and sour mix (or orange juice and lime juice)

Directions

Simply mix one part of each liqueur with two parts of the juice/sour mix. Shake over ice and strain into shot glasses, shooter glasses, or martini glasses. Can even be served over ice as a cocktail if you like it that darn much!

In layman's terms, just in case there are people out there saying, "Huh??": This means if you are making a large pitcher for a party, simply use about a cup of each liqueur (a cup of amaretto, a cup of raspberry, a cup of blue curacao, and a cup of rum) and about 2 cups of the sour mix or orange juice-lime mixture. You can add ice if you want or simply chill in the fridge. If making single servings, you can use about a half a shot each of the alcohols and about a shot of the juice. Shake in a shaker with some ice cubes, and strain into a shot glass or whatever glass you'd like to use.

Weird Drink #2: Bloody Brains

Ewww! This drink sure does look gruesome. Check it out -- you have GOT to try

it for a pleasant surprise. Buy generic alcohol if you'd like. For this concoction it doesn't make too much of a difference with these unique flavors blending together. This drink is best served as a single shot. It's very sweet and needs to be layered. Have no fear: I will help you learn how to layer with ease! Bloody Brains shooter, shot

Ingredients

Irish cream liqueur

peach schnapps

grenadine

Directions

Make sure the peach schnapps is very cold before making this drink. Pour about half a shot of the schnapps into a shot glass. With a steady hand, tilt the shot glass at about a 45 degree angle and very slowly pour some Irish cream down the side of the shot glass. This works best if you use a pourer on the Irish cream so it comes out a little more measured and slowly for you. As you slowly pour the Irish cream into the glass, it should float on top of the schnapps. Tilt the glass slowly back to a level position as you pour the cream on top of the schnapps. Put the glass down gently and let it sit for a couple seconds.

To finish up the preparation, very slowly drip 5 or 6 drops of grenadine on top of the cream. This will pull the cream down a bit and create what looks like bloody chunks floating in liquid, hence the name Bloody Brains!

Don't be scared to try to make this if layering intimidates you. It takes a little practice, but once you get the hang of it, it's very simple and can be done much more quickly than when you're a novice.

Note: Of course, only adults over the legal drinking age should consume these beverages, and please be responsible! Hope you enjoy. : D
